On a cold February night in 1983, a dedicated Massachusetts State Trooper named George Hanna, a 36-year-old Caucasian male, was patrolling the streets of Auburn. It was Saturday, a day he wasn't even scheduled to work, but he had picked up an extra shift. This decision would tragically be his last. While on patrol near the intersection of routes 12 and 20, he initiated a seemingly routine traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle.
