Todd Lanier Lovett, a six-year-old boy from Bradenton, Florida, tragically lost his life on October 21, 1968. The circumstances surrounding his death were both shocking and heartbreaking. Todd was shot by his father, James Cleveland Lovett, in a horrific incident that also claimed the lives of his mother, two siblings, and an infant nephew. Following the shootings, James Cleveland Lovett set fire to their house, intending to die along with his family. However, he survived the ordeal.
