In the spring of 2006, the life of a young Black/African American man, Kevin Lee, was tragically cut short on a street in Boston. On the evening of Wednesday, April 19, 2006, police responded to reports of a person shot at 11 Clarkwood Street in the Mattapan neighborhood. There they found 25-year-old Kevin Lee suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported Lee to Boston Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he succumbed to
them at the hospital. The subsequent autopsy performed by the Medical Examiner's office confirmed that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was officially ruled a homicide. At the time of his death, Lee was identified as being formerly of Boston and more recently a resident of Rhode Island.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Boston Police Homicide Detectives launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Lee's death. Authorities have publicly appealed for assistance, asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the homicide unit or to provide information anonymously through the Crime Stoppers Tip Line. To date, there have been no announced arrests in the case, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murder of Kevin Lee. The investigation into his death remains ongoing.
