In the winter of 2021, a young man's life was cut short in East Boston. On the afternoon of Thursday, December 16, Boston Police responded to a call in the vicinity of 7 Shelby Street. There, they discovered 27-year-old Diion Reid, a male resident of East Boston, inside a parked black sedan. He was suffering from what were initially thought to be stab wounds, but were later confirmed to be gunshot wounds. Boston EMS personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
