In the late summer of 2011, David Glasser, a 44-year-old male, found his life tragically cut short in a horrifying sequence of events that began in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. His death on August 28, 2011, was not a random act of violence, but the culmination of a campaign of intimidation aimed at silencing his testimony against a dangerous criminal.
Glasser, along with his 58-year-old roommate Edward Frampton, and their 47-year-old friend Robert Chadwell, were abducted from Glasser and Frampton's Pittsfield apartment. The three men were then murdered, and their dismembered bodies were later discovered buried in a trench in Becket.
The motive behind this brutal crime was to prevent David Glasser from testifying against Adam Lee Hall, a member of the Berkshire County chapter of the Hells Angels. Hall was facing serious criminal charges and Glasser was a key witness against him. In the months leading up to the murders, Glasser had expressed fear for his life, believing that Hall would try to harm him. His fears were tragically realized when Hall, along with his accomplices David Chalue and Caius Veiovis, orchestrated the kidnapping and subsequent murders of Glasser and the two men who were with him at the time.
The investigation into the disappearance of the three men was swift, and suspicion quickly fell upon Adam Lee Hall. A fourth man, David Casey, was also implicated for helping to bury the bodies after the murders had been committed. Hall had confessed the killings to Casey. The extensive investigation led to the arrests of Hall, Chalue, and Veiovis, who were each charged with three counts of murder, kidnapping, and witness intimidation. David Casey faced charges for his role as an accessory.
The legal proceedings that followed brought the gruesome details of the case to light. Adam Lee Hall, David Chalue, and Caius Veiovis were all tried and convicted for the murders of David Glasser, Edward Frampton, and Robert Chadwell. Hall was found guilty in February 2014 and sentenced to three consecutive life sentences. David Chalue and Caius Veiovis were also convicted and received life sentences for their roles in the heinous crimes. The trials revealed a premeditated plot to eliminate a witness, which ultimately cost three men their lives.
