On an August day in 2011, Edward Frampton, a 58-year-old male, found himself in the wrong place at the very worst time. On August 28th, he was at the Pittsfield, Massachusetts home of his friend, David Glasser. Along with another friend, Robert Chadwell, the three men became the victims of a brutal kidnapping and murder plot. Their disappearances sparked a nearly two-week search that ended in the grim discovery of their dismembered bodies buried in a trench in nearby Becket.
The motive
behind this horrific crime was to silence a witness. David Glasser was scheduled to testify against Adam Lee Hall, a man identified as a sergeant-at-arms for the local chapter of the Hells Angels, in an ongoing criminal case. To prevent this testimony, Hall enlisted the help of two other men, David Chalue and Caius Veiovis. The trio abducted Glasser from his home, and tragically, Frampton and Chadwell were taken as well, simply because they were there and could have been potential witnesses to the abduction.
Following an intensive investigation, Adam Lee Hall, David Chalue, and Caius Veiovis were arrested and charged with three counts each of murder, kidnapping, and witness intimidation. A fourth individual, David Casey, was later charged as an accessory for his role in helping to bury the bodies of the slain men.
