In the early hours of September 30, 2015, a 30-year-old white male named Jeffrey Randall was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside an apartment building in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston. A resident of Barnstable, Massachusetts, he was pronounced dead at the scene around 4:05 a.m. at 493 Huntington Avenue. Police believed from the outset that Randall had been specifically targeted.
Jeffrey Scott Randall was born in Boston and raised in Hyannis, where he was a lifelong
resident. He was known as an avid sports enthusiast, participating in baseball, basketball, and hockey, and also had a passion for dirt bikes. He was a graduate of Barnstable High School. His sudden death left behind his mother, two brothers, and his four children: Jordan, Giavanna, Xander, and Bella.
The investigation into his murder led authorities to Lutherson "Boogs" Bonheur, a drug dealer from Brockton. The investigation revealed that the fatal shooting was connected to drug-related activities. In 2017, Bonheur was sentenced to 19 years in federal prison for a variety of charges, which included the murder of Jeffrey Randall. This sentencing was part of a larger law enforcement effort to combat violent crime associated with drug trafficking in the Boston area, bringing a measure of closure to Randall's grieving family.
