In the spring of 2017, the life of Ivery Downie, a 36-year-old man from Springfield, Massachusetts, was tragically cut short. On the morning of Thursday, May 11, 2017, Downie was at a gas station on Main Street in his hometown when he was fatally shot. The incident marked the city's fourth homicide of the year.
