In the early evening hours of June 13, 2017, the life of 19-year-old Black/African American male Javoni Paul Boyd was tragically cut short. Boyd was fatally shot in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston, becoming the city's 18th homicide victim of the year. The incident, which occurred around 7 p.m. on Delhi Street, marked the second murder in the neighborhood in as many nights.
