On a Sunday afternoon in Boston, a father and son's motorcycle ride turned into a tragedy. Scott M. Stevens Jr., a 32-year-old White male from Taunton, Massachusetts, was shot while riding on Interstate 93 in the Dorchester neighborhood on September 10, 2017. His father, who was riding with him, was also wounded in the attack. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Scott Stevens Jr.
passed away from his injuries.
The investigation into the seemingly random shooting led police to a suspect, Lance Holloman, a 30-year-old from Boston. The case took a darker turn when investigators discovered another victim. On the same day as the highway shooting, the body of 24-year-old Michaela Gingras of Manchester, New Hampshire, was found in Holloman's home. She had also been fatally shot.
Lance Holloman was apprehended and subsequently charged with the murders of both Scott Stevens Jr. and Michaela Gingras. Authorities indicated that Holloman did not know the motorcyclists, and the motive for the highway shooting remained unclear, with initial speculation pointing towards a possible road rage incident. Holloman was taken into custody in Franklin, Massachusetts, following a car crash, on unrelated warrants before being charged with the two murders. The loss of Scott Stevens Jr., who was remembered by loved ones for his passion for life and motorcycles, left a void in the lives of his family and friends.
