On a Saturday afternoon, March 31, 2018, Keith Pomare, a 38-year-old Black / African American male from Mattapan, was fatally shot in Boston, Massachusetts. The incident occurred at approximately 3:56 p.m. on Evans Street in the Dorchester neighborhood. Emergency responders found him inside an SUV and pronounced him dead at the scene. His death was the city's 12th homicide of the year.
Tragically, Keith's death was the third devastating loss for his mother, Niva Scott, who lost three
sons to gun violence in a span of just six months. His younger brother, 28-year-old Malachi Mims, had been killed during a robbery in Cambridge on November 16, 2017. Another brother, 34-year-old Thomas Pomare, was fatally shot in Attleboro after he had returned from California for Malachi's funeral.
