On the evening of May 4, 2018, 58-year-old Black/African American male Clayborn Blair was fatally shot in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. in a park at the Mildred C. Hailey apartment complex on Centre Street. Blair, a father of three and a Navy veteran, was in the park with a group of about 15 people when a gunman opened fire.
