In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Lynn, Massachusetts, the life of Anthony Betancourt, a 32-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short. On April 10, 2019, shortly after midnight, police responded to a call on Williams Avenue and found Betancourt on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his back. He was rushed to Salem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
