On January 3, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Chicopee Police Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash at 190 East Street in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male, later identified as 23-year-old Kelvin Cruz-Lopez of Chicopee, who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The responding officers rendered first aid until Cruz-Lopez was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
