On the evening of October 16, 2022, 24-year-old Quaaneiruh Goodwyn, a Black female, was with friends outside a convenience store at the intersection of Bowdoin Street and Geneva Avenue in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Gunshots suddenly shattered the night air at approximately 8:50 PM. In the ensuing chaos, three people were struck by bullets. While two men were wounded, Goodwyn sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
One of the male victims was in stable condition, while the other was in critical condition.
A recent graduate of Newton South High School, Goodwyn was a new mother to a five-month-old son named Kingston. Described as a vibrant and entrepreneurial woman, she had dreams of a career in music and owned her own clothing line. On the night she was killed, she was reportedly there to support her friends who were filming a video. Her death, ruled a homicide by the medical examiner, sent ripples of grief through her family and community, who remember her as a loving and ambitious person.
Despite the presence of multiple witnesses and surveillance footage that captured the moments before the shooting, Quaaneiruh Goodwyn's murder remains unsolved. The Boston Police Department has released minimal information about the investigation. The only lead made public is that authorities are seeking information about a red SUV with non-working taillights that was seen in the area around the time of the shooting. No arrests have been made in the case, and no suspects have been publicly identified, leaving her family and loved ones still searching for answers and justice.
