On a tragic autumn day, October 1, 2015, the life of 18-year-old White male Lucas Kenneth Eibel was cut short in a senseless act of violence at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. A recent graduate of Roseburg High School, Lucas was a promising student with a passion for chemistry, a field he was just beginning to explore in his fourth day of college classes. He was a recipient of both a Umpqua Community College scholarship and a scholarship from the Ford Family Foundation.
