In the suburban community of Oak Grove, just outside of Portland, Oregon, the life of Terry Richard McKee, a 39-year-old male, was cut short on the evening of November 11, 2017. The Gresham-area resident was fatally shot in an incident that unfolded near Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard and Southeast Concord Road. Emergency services were alerted to a disturbance that had escalated to gunfire, and upon arrival, law enforcement officials found McKee deceased at the scene.

that the individual responsible had fled following the shooting. The investigation conducted by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit quickly pointed to a suspect. The following day, on the afternoon of November 12, 2017, authorities apprehended 17-year-old Miguel Angel Avila Espinal of Milwaukie. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder and unlawful use of a weapon in connection with McKee's death.

While his life was tragically ended by an act of violence, the swift arrest of a suspect brought a measure of resolution to the immediate investigation.
