On the evening of May 9, 2019, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in a Southeast Portland neighborhood, leaving a 40-year-old White/Caucasian man, Kegan Thompson, fatally wounded. The incident occurred around 10:28 p.m. near the intersection of Southeast 104th Avenue and Holgate Boulevard. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Thompson suffering from a gunshot wound.
