In the early morning hours of December 2, 2020, a young Hispanic man named Gabriel Rivera, aged 20, was found dead in north Portland, Oregon. His death was the result of gunshot wounds, and the Oregon State Medical Examiner swiftly ruled it a homicide. Rivera's body was discovered by police officers who were conducting a welfare check near North Columbia Boulevard and Bank Street around 7 a.m. At the time of his death, he was the 48th homicide victim in Portland that year.
