On January 23, 2015, a fatal shooting occurred in Rand, West Virginia, resulting in the death of Christopher 'Snacks' Carey, a 27-year-old resident of the area. The incident took place on Starling Drive, where Carey was found dead after being shot. Alongside Carey, Latisha Crawford, 28, also of Rand, was wounded and found in a wrecked car nearby. She had suffered three gunshot wounds and was hospitalized following the incident.
