On a tragic summer evening in Fairmont, West Virginia, the life of 62-year-old Nancy Eileen Shaw, a White female, was cut short. The date was July 30, 2015, and a domestic dispute escalated into a fatal encounter. Fairmont police were dispatched to a residence on 4th Street around 10:30 p.m. following reports of a domestic disturbance. As officers made their way into the home and ascended the stairs, they heard a woman's screams abruptly followed by the sound of two gunshots.
