Melissa Moran, a 42-year-old White woman, was killed on July 9, 2016, at the Kearneysville, West Virginia, home she shared with her husband, Jerald W. Moran II. The case unfolded early that Saturday morning, when the couple was found dead inside the residence shortly before 6:30 a.m. What initially may have appeared to relatives to be a suicide involving Melissa was soon determined by West Virginia State Police to have been a murder-suicide.
