On November 28, 2016, a tragic incident occurred in Birch River, West Virginia, resulting in the death of 28-year-old Nathan Branham. The event unfolded at a residence located on Bays Road, where Branham was fatally shot.

According to the West Virginia State Police, the shooting took place around 7:30 a.m. on that Tuesday. Troopers responded to reports of a shooting at the residence and found Branham deceased, having suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.
