On the evening of July 21, 2020, a fatal altercation occurred on the side of U.S. Route 19 in Birch River, West Virginia, resulting in the death of 41-year-old David Allen Stover, a White male. The incident, which took place at approximately 6:15 p.m., involved a firearm and led to Stover being shot and killed at the scene.
