In the late summer of 2021, a sense of unease settled over a family in Huntington, West Virginia, as 28-year-old Caucasian woman, Chrystina Lynn Judd, vanished without a trace. September 7, 2021, marked the last time she was seen, leaving her loved ones to grapple with her sudden and mysterious disappearance. For nearly two years, her whereabouts remained a painful enigma, a void in the lives of those who knew her.
The silence was tragically broken in May 2023 when a group of mushroom hunters, wandering through a wooded area in the neighboring state of Kentucky, stumbled upon skeletal remains. Dental records would soon confirm the devastating truth: the search for Chrystina Judd was over.
The discovery of Judd's remains transformed a missing person's case into a homicide investigation, and it wasn't long before authorities honed in on two suspects: brothers Brock and Tucker Meade of Huntington. In a significant development, both men were taken into custody. Brock Meade, 23 at the time, faced the grave charges of first-degree murder and concealment of a deceased body. His brother, Tucker Meade, was also implicated, charged with concealing a body. Investigators alleged that Judd had been killed in Huntington before her body was transported across state lines and left in the desolate woods of Carter County, Kentucky.
As the legal process began to unfold, a clearer and more disturbing picture of Chrystina Judd's final moments emerged. During a preliminary hearing, a Huntington police detective testified that Brock Meade had admitted to the killing. The court heard that Brock had allegedly shot and killed Judd on the very day she was last seen. In a desperate plea for assistance, he was said to have contacted his brother, Tucker, confessing, "I just killed someone, I need your help." According to Tucker's statement to the police, he went to his brother's apartment to find a horrific scene. Together, they are said to have wrapped Judd's body in a sleeping bag, placed it in Brock's SUV, and driven into Kentucky with no clear plan of where to dispose of the evidence of their crime.
