On the evening of August 1, 2022, a tragic event unfolded on the West Side of Charleston, West Virginia, leading to the death of Dominque Poindexter, a 22-year-old Black / African American male. Inside a residence on the 500 block of Wyoming Street, what began as a night of socializing between friends took a fatal turn. Poindexter was in the company of a friend, and the two were reportedly drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana throughout the evening.
