On a cold winter day in Ottumwa, Iowa, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Roger Alan Wiseman Jr., a 25-year-old Caucasian male, was found in the street with multiple gunshot wounds on January 4, 2015. He was rushed to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation into Wiseman's death quickly pointed to a dispute over a dog. Authorities identified 24-year-old Dustin William McDanel as the suspect. The two men had been arguing over ...
