In the late hours of a Sunday in Iowa City, the life of a young Black/African American man, Kaleek Asham Douglas Jones, age 22, was tragically cut short. On August 27, 2017, what began as a dispute between two rival groups on the downtown pedestrian mall escalated into violence that would have fatal consequences.
