In Fort Dodge, Iowa, on September 10, 2019, the life of 17-year-old Daiqualis Poe was cut short in a tragic incident. A senior at Fort Dodge Senior High School, the young Black/African American male died from a single gunshot wound.

The event unfolded inside a residence at 721 N. Eighth St. Emergency services were dispatched to the home at approximately 12:45 p.m., where they found Poe's body.
