In Ankeny, Iowa, on the morning of May 16, 2022, a tragic incident unfolded that resulted in the death of 4-year-old Savannah Holmes, an African American female. Emergency services were dispatched to a residence on Northeast 5th Street around 11:26 a.m. following a report of a child with a gunshot wound. First responders found Savannah and immediately began rendering aid. She was then transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
