On a spring morning in Salt Lake City, Utah, the life of 34-year-old Marisela Lavelle was tragically cut short. On May 24, 2004, as she arrived for her shift at West High School, she was confronted in the parking lot by her estranged husband, Federico Cervantes-Lavalle. The encounter turned fatal when Cervantes-Lavalle, who was 52 years old, shot Marisela.
