In a quiet Syracuse, Utah neighborhood, the lives of a family new to the area were tragically cut short in a heart-wrenching incident. Seven-year-old Isabella Oliva, a White/Caucasian female, was found deceased in her home on January 14, 2014. She, along with her 13-year-old sister Kenadee Oliva, had been fatally shot. The girls had only recently moved to the community and were new students in the local school district, with Isabella having attended classes at Syracuse Elementary School for
just a week.
The events unfolded just a day after Isabella's mother, 32-year-old Kyler Ann Ramsdell-Oliva, ended her relationship with her fiancé. Police had been called to the residence the evening before the tragedy to supervise the ex-fiancé as he moved his belongings out of the house. The following evening, authorities responded to reports of gunfire at the home. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of Isabella, Kenadee, and their mother.
Investigators determined that the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. It is believed that Kyler Ann Ramsdell-Oliva shot both of her daughters before turning the gun on herself.
