On a cold December night in 2014, the life of 32-year-old Orlando Roybal, a White/Caucasian male, was cut tragically short in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was just after midnight on December 4th when Roybal was fatally shot in what authorities would later describe as an ambush-style attack. The violent encounter unfolded near 600 East and Leland Avenue, where Roybal was a passenger in a vehicle with a female companion.
