In the crisp autumn air of October 10, 2015, the life of 10-year-old Zachary "Zac" Daniel Woodruff, a Caucasian male from Smithfield, Utah, was tragically cut short. What began as a day of outdoor adventure, hiking and riding in the mountains with family and friends—activities he cherished—ended in an unimaginable loss later that evening.
