In the early morning hours of December 19, 2016, a violent encounter in a Layton, Utah, home claimed the life of 24-year-old Taylor James Vancamp, a White male. The tragic events unfolded in a house where Vancamp and several others rented rooms. An argument between Vancamp and his 19-year-old roommate, Christopher S. Fritz, escalated into a physical fight. The altercation, which reportedly started in a hallway and moved into another roommate's room, left Fritz with a black eye.
