In a tragic turn of events on January 24, 2017, in West Valley City, Utah, a domestic dispute escalated into a violent episode that would ultimately claim the life of 67-year-old Elaine Manning. The Caucasian woman was shot in the head, allegedly by her 23-year-old grandson, Michael Gregory VanDeMerwe. The incident also resulted in the death of her son and the father of the suspect, 46-year-old Gregory VanDeMerwe, who was also shot in the head.
