Six-year-old Allison Noelle Wyatt, a Caucasian female, was a kind-hearted and funny first-grader who loved to draw and wanted to be a teacher. On the morning of December 14, 2012, she went to Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, for what should have been an ordinary day. That morning, however, a 20-year-old man named Adam Lanza drove to the school after fatally shooting his mother, Nancy Lanza, at their home.
Armed with a semi-automatic rifle and other firearms legally purchased by his mother, Lanza shot his way through the school's locked glass entrance shortly after 9:30 a.m.
Once inside, Lanza proceeded to two first-grade classrooms. In a terrifyingly brief period, he opened fire, killing twenty young children and six female educators who tried to protect them. Allison was one of the children who tragically lost their lives during the rampage. The attack was swift and brutal, with the medical examiner later stating that the victims were shot multiple times.
The suspect in Allison's death, along with the deaths of 25 others at the school and his mother, was Adam Lanza. There were no other suspects, and no arrests were made because Lanza took his own life at the scene as first responders began to arrive. Investigators determined that Lanza acted alone in planning and carrying out the attack. Despite extensive investigation, a clear motive for his actions was never determined.
