On a tragic afternoon in Milford, Connecticut, the life of 56-year-old White male Michael Daniel Savignano was cut short in an act of violence. As officers surrounded the property, Edwards fired a shot at them before turning the gun on himself, taking his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Michael Savignano, a native of Derby and a graduate of Shelton High School, was a retired co-owner of Frank Buick GMC Truck. He was remembered as a resident of the Huntington and Woodmont areas, where he enjoyed life by the beach. He was a father to three children, Danielle, Francesca, and Michael Jr., and a grandfather. The incident left both families and the local community in shock and mourning.
