On September 1, 2015, Desmond Wright, a 32-year-old resident of Hartford, Connecticut, was fatally shot while walking down Pershing Street. He sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:36 a.m.
