On April 7, 2016, Robert Richardson, a 22-year-old resident of New Haven, Connecticut, was fatally shot in the city's East Rock neighborhood. Emergency responders found Richardson on May Street with a gunshot wound to the back of his head. He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 2 a.m.
