On the morning of August 24, 2017, Cadell Moore, a 34-year-old Black / African American male, was innocently working on his Chevrolet sport utility vehicle on Sixth Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut. At around 11 a.m., gunfire erupted, and Moore, bent over his engine, was struck in the head by a bullet. He was not the intended target of the shooting. The hail of bullets was aimed at a nearby house where members of a local street gang were located.
