On the morning of February 6, 2022, Hartford police responded to a serious car crash on Bellevue Street around 8:45 a.m. Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Tyrik "TJ" Walcott of Windsor, Connecticut, unconscious in the vehicle. Firefighters extricated him from the car, at which point responders discovered he had sustained a gunshot wound. Walcott was immediately transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
