In the late evening of July 5, 2022, a sense of unease settled over the area of Colman Street and West Pleasant Street in New London, Connecticut. At approximately 10:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night, prompting calls to the New London Police Department. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered a young Hispanic man, 25-year-old Abdiel Rodriguez, suffering from life-threatening injuries.
