Latrell Gipson, aged 27, was shot and killed in the early hours of July 31, 2016, in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on Chicago's West Side. The incident occurred as Latrell was walking on the sidewalk when he was struck by gunfire. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
