On November 5, 1984, the lives of Sandra Marie Armstrong Warren, a 46-year-old female, and her husband, James Julian Warren, Sr., came to a tragic end in their Rogers, Arkansas home. The couple was brutally murdered by their former son-in-law, William Frank Parker, in a violent rampage fueled by his recent divorce from their daughter.
The horrifying events unfolded when Parker, armed with a gun, confronted James Warren and his daughter, Cindy, outside their residence.
After firing shots at Cindy and missing, he chased James into the house where he then shot and killed both him and Sandra. The violence did not stop there; later that same day, Parker located his ex-wife, Pam Warren, kidnapped her, and subsequently shot her and a police officer.
William Frank Parker was arrested and ultimately faced justice for his crimes. In his initial trial in 1985, he was convicted on multiple counts, including two counts of capital felony murder for the deaths of James and Sandra Warren, and was sentenced to death. These initial capital murder convictions were later reversed by the Arkansas Supreme Court due to a legal technicality concerning the burglary charge that accompanied the murders.
However, the reversal did not signify freedom for Parker. He was retried on the capital murder charges, and in 1989, a jury once again found him guilty. The court reaffirmed his death sentence for the calculated and premeditated murders of Sandra and James Warren. The subsequent legal proceedings revealed that Parker's motive was a plan to kill the entire Warren family.
