On a summer evening in Rogers, Arkansas, the life of 31-year-old Glenda Marie Crowson came to a tragic and violent end. It was July 24, 2015, at the Midway mobile home park on East New Hope Road, where a neighbor was startled by the sound of a gunshot. Prompted by the alarming noise, the neighbor entered the mobile home that Glenda shared with 30-year-old Aaron N. Jones. Inside, a grim scene was unfolding. Glenda was found lying on the floor, while Jones was behaving erratically.
The neighbor quickly retreated and called 911 for help.
When Rogers police officers arrived, they discovered both Glenda and Jones on the floor, each with a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency responders rushed Jones to Mercy Hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. Glenda was airlifted to Washington Regional Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries later that same evening. The investigation into the harrowing incident determined that it was a case of murder-suicide.
Detectives at the scene concluded that Jones had shot Glenda with a handgun before turning the weapon on himself. The handgun used in the shooting was recovered at their home. The bodies were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further evaluation to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the tragic events of that night. With the perpetrator deceased, the investigation was concluded, leaving behind a community in mourning and a family grieving the loss of a mother, daughter, and sister. Glenda Marie Crowson, a Caucasian female, is survived by her five children, her parents, and two sisters.
