In the late hours of a September day in Forrest City, Arkansas, the life of 52-year-old Roosevelt Williams was tragically cut short. On September 25, 2010, Williams was the victim of a fatal drive-by shooting. The violent act not only claimed his life but also resulted in injury to his daughter, Granada Lay, who was with him at the time of the attack.
The brazen nature of the crime spurred an extensive investigation by local law enforcement.
Their efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of three suspects believed to be responsible for the shooting. The first to be apprehended was Anthony Antwon Millbrooks. He faced a litany of serious charges, including first-degree murder, criminal attempted first-degree murder, engaging in criminal group activity, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Following Millbrooks's arrest, the investigation continued to yield results, leading to the capture of a second suspect, Jerry Millbrooks Jr., who faced a similar set of charges. The third individual implicated in the crime, Clayton Douglas Johnson, was located and arrested in San Diego, California. Johnson was later extradited back to Forrest City to face the same charges as the Millbrooks brothers. The arrests brought a sense of relief to the community as the individuals accused of the violent act were brought into custody to face legal proceedings.
