In the summer of 2015, the community of Mountain Home, Arkansas, was shaken by the tragic deaths of Sandra Christine Douglas, a 47-year-old Caucasian woman, and her partner, Terry Mills. On July 26th, the couple was discovered deceased inside their residence, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
The Baxter County Sheriff's Office immediately launched an investigation into the distressing discovery.
Early indications at the scene led investigators to consider the possibility of a murder-suicide. This preliminary theory was based on the evidence collected within the home, which included the recovery of a firearm and spent casings. The discovery of a suicide note left by Terry Mills further supported this conclusion.
Following the initial investigation, the bodies of Sandra Douglas and Terry Mills were transported to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's Office in Little Rock for autopsies to be performed.
