In the late summer of 2016, the life of 23-year-old Tyler Donaldson was tragically cut short in a burst of violence in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On the evening of September 8th, a shooting erupted that left five people wounded. Two days later, on September 10, 2016, Tyler Donaldson succumbed to his injuries, his death marking a grim turn in the investigation of what authorities described as a senseless act of violence.
The incident drew immediate attention from law enforcement, who began
the task of piecing together the events of that violent evening. Their investigation quickly led to the identification of suspects. The first arrest in the case was followed by a second, which brought a sense of cautious relief to a community shaken by the bloodshed.
The second individual taken into custody was Stephon Harris. He turned himself in to the authorities on the evening of September 14, 2016. With Donaldson's death, the charges against Harris were escalated to first-degree murder, in addition to four counts of battery for the other individuals who were injured in the shooting. The Garland County Sheriff's Department and the Hot Springs Police Department had worked in concert to secure his surrender. The identity of the first suspect arrested was not as widely reported, leaving a piece of the narrative less clear in the public eye as the legal process against Harris began to move forward.
