On June 8, 2018, Lawrence Clayborn Butler Jr., a 62-year-old resident of Little Rock, Arkansas, was found deceased in his home. His cousin discovered Butler's body after arriving to watch a basketball game together. The cousin was unable to enter the residence but noticed Butler slumped over inside and immediately called 911. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed Butler had been shot multiple times, leading them to classify his death as a homicide.
